About Divino Italian Restaurant - Downtown Clearwater
Divino Italian Restaurant opened in the summer of 2009 in downtown Clearwater. Diners will be pleasantly surprised after walking into this fine restaurant for the first time. The exterior, though nicely appointed with new stucco plastered over the original brick facade, and colored with a very "Italian" light terra cota colored paint, does not prepare one for the elegant interior of this restaurant. Many years ago, this building was a movie theater - with balconies, exposed stairways, and high ceilings. Now it is a first rate restaurant, designed to place diners in an Italian piazza, where they may chose to eat on the ground floor open area with a fountain, or perhaps at a table in one of the balconies where the walls are festooned with original art work by local artists. Either way, the tables are appointed with fine linen tablecloths and napkins, all with the idea of preparing the hungry patron for (hopefully) "something special."
Our mission at DineandFind.com is to provide our viewers with information to assist them in making decisions as to where to dine, either for lunch or dinner. We often "try the fare" at a few different restaurants each month, though it must be stated that we can't try them all. This one we tried. Yes, indeed. And "something special" it was! All four of us in the party gave Divino's the thumbs up for the three things that matter: Ambiance, food quality (including taste), and service. It's a bit pricey, but it's common knowledge that good things are rarely cheap. As we walked out we unanimously agreed, it was worth every penny.
Take a look through the Divino website and menu; there's quite a bit of interesting info there. And if you've had the Divino experience, a few words jotted down in a short review would be welcome reading for those out there who are culinistically curious. (Don't get the dictionary..... I made it up.)

a nice surprise for downtown clearwater, great atmosphere and wonderful food. i heard the chef is from napoli italy - put this one on top ten list - i will return.

DIVINO'S translation DIVINE.....HEAVENLY
If you want a true dining experience take your wife and family to this restaurant! The ambiance and lighting is just right.....the professional waite staff is just that.....the food is heavenly....and Thursday thru Saturday evenings there is a tenor singing as you dine....an experience not to be missed. Perfecto!
